Teneze Bako is from South Africa, an IB2 student at Waterford Kamhlaba UWCSA, and currently the YWEC co-executive for Research, Reporting and Marketing. Teneze is an active student on campus, being a Women’s Week Head, which aims to celebrate and recognise the achievements, contributions and challenges faced by women in various aspects of life. In addition to that, she is also the Africa Night Executive for Africa Week, a dedicated period of time during which the school focuses on celebrating the diverse cultures, histories, and contributions of the African continent and its people. Beyond that, Teneze served as the Waterford Gumboot Troupe Leader, and a part of the Student Representative Council.
